This week ending seems to be a good one for Cuba’s citizens as it is anticipated that 3G mobile internet will be availed to them via a 3G mobile network.
From this Thursday population of Cuba will be able to subscribe to this new 3G service and enjoy the 3G speed on their mobile.
Till today the 3G internet services were only reserved for foreign businesses and journalists employed by the state. For internet services, the locals of Cuba have always relied upon the fancy internet cafes or free wi-fi hotspots.
The new contracts are assumed to be a bit expensive due to which it is expected that not all the locals will be able to enjoy it.
Etecsa being the company behind Cuba’s 3G internet relief said the subscription packages would range as high as 7CUC ($7; £5.50) for 600MB data to 30CUC for 4GB of data.
The 3G launch denotes a further unwinding of the administration's limitations on online action.
The access to high-speed 3G internet was only constrained to clubs which are operated by the State and some tourist hotels.
